Take a walk on the historic side at the Heritage Walk

The heritage walk is a self-guided tour through East, West, and central Spokane. With this tour, you have the freedom of going where you want at whatever pace you’d like while getting the guided history of a tour guide.

Get Gnar at Mount Spokane

Spokane is the right climate for clean powdery snow atop its remarkable mountains. Whether you’re an avid snowboarder/ skier or just starting, Spokane has a place for you.

Mount Spokane is a ski resort that is open 7 days a week and can be found an hour outside downtown Spokane.

This resort has ski runs for beginners as well as advanced riders.

Explore the neighborhoods

Spokane is made up of several districts, and each unique area is worth a visit, but if you’re short on time or want an idea of each before you go, here’s a list of Spokane’s districts.

Spokane’s Perry District

Located south of downtown, this area consists of quirky shops and restaurants.

Browns addition

This area is close to downtown and is the oldest neighborhood in Washington, the district is good for its Victorian architecture and is also plentiful in restaurants.

Garland District

This location is centered around its 1940s movie theater, it has quite a few unique buildings and murals. If any of the sites looks familiar, it’s probably because this district has been showcased in a few feature films such as Berry and June, VisionQuest and Why Would I lie?

North Monroe Business District

This park of the city used to be a place for passersby on their way downtown and has since been renewed with a combination of old and new businesses.

Downtown Spokane

Here nature collides with urban living, this district is known for its architecture and art, and according to National Geographic has one of the country’s best city parks!

Kendall Yard

One of the city’s youngest districts is located on the north bank of the Spokane River. Named after the district’s railroad history, this part of town has a nice combination of condos, apartments, community gardens, and art.

Sprague Union District

This area was previously homage to abandoned storefronts and has since been resurrected into a nice spot to visit for dining and drinks.

University District

This is Spokane’s youngest district, which holds six universities and two med schools, the area is full of life and keeps developing.

Hillyard Historic Business District

This is the oldest district in Spokane and belongs to both Spokane and national historic registers. Here, you can find bars, stores, and entertainment.
